Somatic Sensing of Egyptian Baladi
In this zoom class we look at some of the key weight transfer movements and very basic patterns that are almost always incorporated into the gyptian Balaldi style dancing. These clips will remain up online until the next zoom which is 19th of July 9 am Cairo time.

Key points:
- Slow weight transfer
- Figure 8s outwards with flat feet and figure 8's inwards with balls of the feet pushing off the floor
- Accents with the hips are either in a dabbing or punch of motion. There is a difference between the two.
- Shimmies are simply rapid accents
- Hip overs to the side come from the figure of eight inwards
- Circles in the horizontal can be used for travelling
- Shoulders roll and arms are kept parallel and closer to the body then with other styles of dancing
