A-Z Bellydance Advanced Self Study Course (Certification Course #4)

Certification Study Course

ABOUT THE A-Z ADVANCED PERSONAL TECHNIQUES COURSE

Keti Sharif's A-Z Bellydance offers a somatic approach to bellydance within a progressive, multi-layered framework. A-Z Advanced features 26 x sequences that build from their Original counterparts, with a focus on spatial patterns and stage performance, presented in five sets. Each set explores a particular movement group, and culminates in an interpretive choreography. APT supports the participant as they expand and refine their movement vocabulary of more advanced phrases that regularly occur in Raqs Sharqi, Baladi and Egyptian Theatre dance. The patterning within A-Z is designed to be assimilated on many levels; physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically.

BENEFITS FOR THE PARTICIPANT
Inspired by Egyptian dance 'aesthetics within a framework', and based on LIVE recordings of Egyptian music and rhythms, Keti's training method enhances interpretive skills through technique, cultural insight and musicality. Practicing the sequences to music develops neural-pathways and a fresh sense of freedom, confidence, and natural ease which is useful for both choreography and improvisation.

BELLYDANCE WITH A SOMATIC APPROACH
A-Z Advanced draws on movement properties associated with the 8 Efforts. The science and art of Somatics (internalising movement), Laban Movement Analysis, and Bartenieff Fundamentals supports body connectivity and performance expression. This improves confidence through awareness of the dynamics of dance, assisting body memory and encourages improvisation, exploring lyrical flow and musicality.
